After Kyla's birthday we spent the night at Nate and Candy's. The next day we hung around and tried to find Daniel a shuttle ride to his flight in Vegas. Unfortunately, everything was full so we had to figure who was going to take him. I was so grateful that Nate offered to take some time off from work to drive him down. I was so exhausted from traveling and sleeping a different place every night that I don't know if I could have done it by myself. Luckily, Candy picked up on this fact even more than I did and asked Nate if he could do it. I was kind of anxious about Daniel leaving and being left to take care of 3 girls on the road. I spent the next several days in Kanab hanging out at home. My morning sickness (or more appropriately all day nausea and exhaustion) had kicked in by then. It was nice to relax and just be home for awhile, but I felt bad I wasn't able to do more with my parents. We did get out a little, and had a few fun outings. My favortie would have to be our hike up the hill behind our house, probably because of the great pictures I got. This is looking south on the Ranchos on to the sewer ponds and over the hill to Fredonia. So this is where I grew up, if anyone is wondering. My house is the one just below Kyla on the left with the big porch in front. My family built this house over 9 months while we were living in trailers parked where the lawn is. I haven't seen any pictures of the house from this point of view and I thought it looked pretty great. Wish I had gotten a little better picture of Kyla. But I guess to her excuse, we pulled them out of bed so we could get up and down the mountain before it got too late.So here goes Miss Photogenic again. Every once in while she totally surprises me with an amazing smile captured like this. I think I need to frame this one.
One of the girls greatest highlights of being in Kanab is going on Model T rides with Grandpa. I love how even though they go on Model T rides quite often at the village they are always super excited to beg Grandpa for a ride. Maybe he makes it a sweeter ride with doughnuts, suckers, and things I don't always find out about. I guess they don't get that at the village.
We also had fun at the park, riding horses, playing with friends, and the girls just couldn't get enough playtime at Mormor's house.
