Pretty Boy!

I loved how he just stood there and truly seemed to be enjoying all the attention. I wonder how long he is going to let his sisters play with his hair. Kyla takes such good care of him at home or at school, she is a great help. Hope you enjoy.

Preschool Graduation

Wed 26 - The girls had field day and it was super hot! I went for Kyla's class in the morning and sprayed them down with a spray bottle every few minutes. It is kind of sad since we don't have any type of field at our school they have to walk over to the park a 1/2 mile away. Kyla was excited since she won the bag race. I am not sure if she really won but she thought she did and that is what matters. That afternoon Myka's preschool had their end of the year picnic/graduation. I think she is really going to miss going. Her teacher was so much fun and I am sure that I am not nearly as much fun.
After school was the dress rehearsal for the talent show and then that evening was Activity Days girls for Nora and scouts for Daniel.

Tues 25 - Pretty uneventful if you can believe it. Just watched 3 extra kids in the a.m. and good outside family time after school. Our new dining room! Isn't it great. We eat out here at least half of the time. The kids love it, although they do get a bit distracted and don't tend to eat as well because they want to go play. We might not be out here as much anymore now that the mosquitos are out!!! Ugh

Mon 24 - Clean the house, visiting teaching interview, and go to the library.

Lansing Friday the 28th

Fri 28 - Mommy and Nora went on a field trip to Lansing (our state capital). We got to ride in a motorcoach bus with a bathroom and TV's. The kids thought it was great fun. We toured the capitol building. I didn't think it was that great on the outside but the inside was really amazing. It was so beautiful and had some great architecture. We got to see the Governor's office (cermonial only) and the Senate and House of Representatives galleries. They weren't in session so we got to hang out and take pictures. After lunch on the lawn, we went to the Michigan Historical Museum. It was such a great museum. I didn't know history could be so much fun. It was so well done. The kids had a great time. I did too but was so tired from being up with Eli the night before and from exercising that week.
Pretty cool chandliers throughout the capitol.
The tour guide had all the kids lay down on the glass floor so they could look up and see this - The Inner Dome
The House of Representatives room.

The Michigan Historical MuseumNora and Amaya in front of the huge topographical map of Michigan. This was the exhibit about mining, a lot of their exhibits were fully immersible pretty cool.School girls in front of a huge wheel used to haul lumber.
Motown here we come!

Talent Show

Thur 27 - I was in charge of the clean-up at Myka's preschool in the morning. Nora and Kyla had fun dressing up for "twin" day with their best friends. After school Kyla had girl scouts and Nora and I were busy working out the kinks for the talent show. The school talent show was that night and Nora sang "Puff the Magic Dragon" she did such a great job and never even looked at her notecard. We had a little bit of drama the night before at dress rehearsal because she stumbled over some of the words and got flustered. She ended up crying it out for awhile at home and then getting up and practicing. Nora is somewhat of a perfectionist but gets really discouraged if she doesn't get it right from the start.
I just thought she was fabulous and, I think, the youngest performer at the talent show that night.

Catching Up In Reverse

I wanted to do a little catch up on here but I decided to do it in reverse so I will post the most recent stuff first and work back from there.

Yesterday was Memorial Day and a very beautiful hot day it was. Kyla and I walked in the Dearborn Parade as part of the girl scouts. I guess I will have to get one of the moms that took picture of the girls send me some. Daniel had the camera and they totally missed us in the parade :-(. Kyla was bummed. I was also bummed because I lost my phone. After the parade we went back to look for the phone for a hour or so but finaly gave up and headed to the BBQ. Eli being tricky with the stroller. Nora and Myka trying to see the parade. Our backyard neighbor is the one driving with the helmet on, pretty cool jeep. I saw his wife running to pick up the kids from school in the jeep today. The neighbor girls riding the WWII bikes, aren't their costumes great?

One of the girl scout families had invited everyone over for a BBQ and it was very nice. Although, a pretty fierce thunderstorm hit right in the middle of the party. We stayed for quite awhile and then headed to another BBQ that our backyard neighbors were having to honor all the WWII veterans. We got there a little late so we didn't get to visit with the veterans but had fun chatting with the neighbors and then went home to recover.

Sat 29 - Daniel took the girls to "How to Train Your Dragon" at the theatre while Eli and Mommy shopped with Summer for shoes. Then we came home to get some stuff done around the house.
