On the Hunt (for fireflys!)

Firefly hunting is one of the our greatest summertime activities. It was also one of the best excuses for staying up past bedtime. Myka was so cute trying to keep up with her sisters in catching them. I hope that you can hear it. I realized when I was done filming that she was actually chasing a little buzzing, brown June beetle. That was probably why it gave her such a run for her money, she usually can't keep track of the fireflys for that long. I helped her finally catch it as soon as I put the camera down. At the very beginning of the movie she is letting a firefly go that she had just caught. It is going to be a long fall, winter, and spring before we see those fireflys again.
