Grandma came on Wednesday morning and we put her to work straight away raking leaves. The girls had a great time raking and jumping into the pile. Although they were a little sad we only had one rake, so we improvised with brooms and snow shovels. Our trees were actually some of the first to lose their leaves so it was nice to get it over and done with before it snows and gets nasty. Unfortunately, they had little skinny leaves and twigs, not the best for jumping in. Fall in Michigan is so fun. For the past few weeks everything has been covered in leaves. All the lawns, cars, and the streets look like they are one way because of the piles of leaves.
Nora and I were talking about what climate was the other day. I used how it is always nice weather in Florida as an example of a type of climate. She said "Yeah it is always nice and warm" dreamily. But then I explained to her that it would probably get boring if we didn't have the change of seasons. That really struck a cord with her and I don't think she is going to be wishing we lived in Florida, well maybe after the next 4 months of winter:-)! We really do love the change in seasons. I just wish spring was a little longer here, and hope we get as much snow this year as we did last.
Of course, Daddy turns everything into a party. Thank you Grandma for the wagon! It was such a fun suprise to get it in a big box in the mail after she left last time. I was looking for one this summer at garage sales but never found it. We have found many more uses for it than just going to the farm market!
