Our Hope in Ford's Plan for Survival

I know that a lot of you have been concerned about Daniel's job with the big auto crisis. We found this article and appreciated the truth and honesty. The media just loves blowing things out of porportion. Don't get me wrong there are still going to be white collar lay offs and the companies aren't doing well. But I guess it makes me feel a little better since Daniel is in Product Development and they aren't cutting back much on Product Development. It would really bite if we did have to move and sell our house. I don't think we would lose that much on it since we bought during the low time also, but we definately wouldn't make anything on it. Daniel had meetings with both Derrick Kuzak and Alan Mulally a couple weeks ago and feels confident that Ford has the right leadership team and they are making the right decisions to get Ford through these tough times with or without government loans. The best part is that they have not sacrificed any plans for some excellent future products coming over the next couple of years, so Ford will be poised for growth when the economy begins to recover. Also, they are not just reacting to recent events, but just continuing to follow through with the same basic "One Ford" plan that Ford has been implimenting for the last two years.

Here are some links to some of the recent news showing the good things Ford is doing.

This is good, hopeful information in these scary times. So many of my sons and sons in law have had hours cut - which means a drop in income that is very hard to deal with for young families. I know this country will come through it all just fine. No matter who is the President! As Travis said there was good news for families in the elections. Family values were supported in many states. Very heartening to know this country still has enough of those who care about the moral direction of our country.
Love you,
