September brought my fifth Enrichment as RS 2nd Counselor, which means my life was insane the week before. Our theme was food storage, I know sounds boring but, it actually ended up turning out really good. It was the first time that I actually had a committee that was more than just a couple of people and that was nice. The hard part was that most of the ladies on my committee are older and can't do a lot physically, so I was still running around like crazy and totally wiped out at the end. I am so glad I have a family that supports me so well. Daniel and the girls came the night before to help me set up and then were there that whole night until we got it wrapped up around 10:00. Not too bad for us, but kind of late for the girls that had school in the morning.
We had a dinner that we tried to make completely out of items from your food storage. It wasn't until the night before that I realized we were serving beans for every course. Luckily, everyone enjoyed the meal, even the mock pumpkin pie made out of pinto beans. I ended up throwing these really cute centerpieces together with a #10 can, a jar of pears, and a package of spaghetti with a skinny vase of sunflowers in the middle and all tied up with raffia. I never thought that I could do centerpieces before but I guess last minute desperation brings things out of you. I couldn't get the camera to work at first, then Daniel got it to work but I forgot to take anymore pics after that. Now it is on to planning for December! Anyone got any great ideas?
