They were soooo excited about the recital and loved getting the costumes. Unfortunately, I don’t know how it ended up but they were both in some of the biggest classes. It doesn't really show from their class pictures. Since you had to pay $10 to have your child in the class picture a lot of people didn't do and the actual class for the recital was about twice as big as in the pictures. Kyla’s dance was to the song “Colors of the Wind” and Nora’s to “Ice Castle”. They both did a great job. Kyla actually knew her dance really well but the music they chose was really hard for them to follow and remember when to do things. I still can’t decide if she is doing what she should and everyone else is off or the other way around. Nora actually surprised me with how well she did and knew the steps. The few times I was able to watch her class she was kind of a space case about it, but for the recital she had it down pretty well.
We were supposed to cake on the makeup, for the dress rehearsal and recital. I didn't know anything about makeup on little girls for their pictures, so for the professional shots they don't have any makeup on. I didn’t do a very good job for the dress rehearsal and tried just using stuff that I had (which is all very natural colors), you could hardly tell they had anything on.
Well I made up for it at the recital, I went shopping for bright colors, and you could definitely tell they had makeup on. It made Daniel scared to see them all made up like that and gave us a glimpse of what was to come. Yikes! We bought them flowers, they got trophies, and we took them out to Cold Stone afterwards (yes, even in their costumes). The only sad part for me was not having family there. It was really the first time, since we moved here, that it was a big deal. It seemed like everyone else there was surrounded by family and grandpa's with roses for their granddaughter's. Well it was a good thing it was only a few more weeks and we would be surrounded by family. One of the reasons it took me so long to get this post up is I was trying to edit and merge some of the video clips from the recital but I had to just give up.

Wow you have been busy. I love the summer for that reason alone.
