The Village Opens!!!

The main excitement this week was the opening day of Greenfield Village. Our friends had planned on going Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday afternoon. But we just couldn't wait and Kyla, Myka, and I where there when the gates opened on Tuesday morning. We ended up going for a couple hours that morning, an hour and a half that afternoon (after we got Nora from school), and again on Wednesday after school. These pictures are from all three of those trips. The first thing we did was go on the train, of course, and then off to the carousel. When we picked Nora up I was surprised that she wanted to go to the farm first. It was actually a great decision the girls were just in time to help round up the chickens for the night and help move the sheep from the field to the barn. But the thing that entranced them the most was Horatio, the farm cat.By the time I finally dragged them away from the cat it was about closing time. We were able to stop in the glass blowing shop and saw them working on this amazing goblet. The girls love watching the glass blowing and were sad when it was over and they were closing. We are excited for the summer to be able to play at the village a lot more. And we would love to take any of you there too! (We got a pass with friends included and haven't used it as much as we thought we would, well at least not the friends part.)
