Mid-winter break

This week we were out of school for "mid-winter break". If you ask me the silliest school vacation.  I guess some people go to Florida but for the rest of us we get a week in the nasty weather to try to figure out what to do.  We tried to make some plans but not many of them came to pass.  I was going to try to take the kids to the zoo and leave the babies home with a sitter but I wasn't feeling good Monday and Tuesday and then we ended up taking the babies in to the Dr and got them on antibiotics.  We did have some kid swap playdates, Easy Bake Oven, went to the Henry Ford museum and played in the snow.  We made use of the evenings with a Star Wars marathon and watched Harry Potter #6 with Nora since we just finished the book.  Here are a few pictures.  The babies officially turned 8 months old and are crawling!!! They are still pretty slow on their hands and knees but go pretty fast with the army crawl.

I told all the kids to eat lots before we left because we were not snacking or eating at the museum.  But I ended up caving in and buying them each a $.50 pickle and a bag of chips to share at Lamy's diner. We were so excited that they rennovated it to make it a real diner but kind of bummed that it was SO pricey! $1.75 for a donut!
 
Nora built a Y for BYU since everyone else was making M's for U of M and Michigan State.  She looks so grownup in this picture!!!

Star Wars Marathon. I don't think we gave anyone nightmares and Nora was schooling me on the similarities between Star Wars and Harry Potter all week long.
Aurora came on Monday to watch the babies while I was going to take the kids to the zoo instead I spent it in bed. The girls were so excited to have someone to do Easy Bake Oven with. They had so much fun.
