Today was the Primary Program that we look forward to all year. Our ward did a magnificent job. The spirit was really strong and the kids did great. I laughed, I cried, and our meeting went 20 minutes over. I don't think anyone wanted it to end, except maybe the primary kids who were getting slightly wiggly by the end. Of course, I had a strong bias toward two cute blond girls with french braids. Nora was asked to give a 2-minute talk and did such a great job. We talked to her beforehand about not looking at her page and reading the whole time but looking up at the audience once in awhile and how to deal with the microphone (not eating it). I thought she would forget most of it and just speed through her talk but she did it even better than we had practiced it. She paused and looked up at the audience after paragraphs and enunciated the words really well. Needless to say, I got a lot of comments after church. This evening Daniel was talking to her and told her she did a really good job on her talk and asked her if she liked giving talks in front of people. She said she really liked it and would like to do it more. Then Daniel explained to her that getting up and talking in front of a big audience makes a lot of people scared. Nora didn't really understand this and said "Scared of what? Of people?" Kyla did a great job too and knew and sang a lot more of the songs than I thought she knew. Kyla did a good job on her part also.
The other highlight of the day was Nora sweeping up the floor after making a mess and finding a weevil. She thought is was a little caterpillar and decided it would be her pet. She then proceeding to make the weevil a home and give it flour for food. Luckily, I think she lost it while she was trying to give it a bath. It is going to be a very happy day when we get a "real" pet.

Dear Lise,
I'm so glad you're blogging!! Seeing all of your fun picts and hearing about your adventures makes me miss the midwest. The girls are so cute.
We saw Cynthia at Miranda's birthday party, and she said she had such a good time with you in Michigan.
The house looks great! It's so exciting to buy your first home.
Your Mom bore her testimony on Sunday. It was really nice. I could tell your Dad's back was hurting, he was actually quite pale.
We miss you and love you.

Nora - I am so excited for you to be in first grade! I know you will do well and have a lot of fun. School is wonderful and I'm sure you always are a good student. As I teach each day, I am especially happy when I see a student who is excited to learn. Keep up the good work. I love you very much.
Kyla, I also hear that you are doing Kindergarten work. That is great. You made a very cute witch at Halloween. It looks as if you guys are having a lot of fun. I know you will be moving into your new house soon.
I look forward to seeing you all at Christmas time.
